Let's Make it into a List

Hey Y'allisn't that just so fun to say? (:

So for todays post I decided to make a list, maybe because I like lists, maybe because I don't know what to blog about or maybe because most importantly it will keep my ramblings to a minimum, take your pick, and hey you could keep reading too if you wanna(:

1.  My eats; I'll keep this short because I have a lot of pics from this past week that I just haven't gotten around to posting (too bad I didn't make the WIAW cut-off haha) But I decided in the future to keep these pictures at a minimum because I know everyone gets tired of drooling over my food porn
insert sarcastic sigh here, I realize not all my eats are the prettiest, but they are yummy!
Instead I'll just post for an occasional WIAW, recipes or pictures that are too darn gorgeous to keep from you guys!

Yes that is an adora calcium disk that I used as my ice cream topper(:

If you haven't already you should try these veggie souffles from Garden Lites, they are super tasty and take like 3 minutes in the microwave (I think they also come in broccoli, zucchini and mixed)

I know the picture on the right is just lovely right; but for these sweet potato fries I used a spiralizer to make them curly-ques! So cute!

I've been lovin' shredded coconut as an oatmeal topper(:

2. I went up to Boone, NC this past weekend with my friend to surprise my dad after he rode a 100 mile race (seriously, he is a crazy biker!) He was definitely shocked to see me but the drive up was fun and he even took us out to lunch(:

A funky burrito from a place called Black Cat; it was called "Peanut Satay Burrito" and it had broccoli, carrots, chicken and a peanut sauce

3. I plan on making these as soon as possible

4. I entered a giveaway here to win a Whole Foods giftcard because it is a blessing that I don't have one near me, but look-out because there is one in New Orleans #herecomestrouble #imgonnabebrokeinnotime

5.  I've been babysitting like a mad lady recently; but thats not an issue because I need the money to keep rolling in (haha, like I said, I have expensive foodie habits)

Haha look at her nose!

6. I have been doing things other than taking pictures of food and babysitting, I've been going to the pool frequently and trying to read my summer reading (ugh) but it's really hard to get into. Especially when your friends want to do more talking than actual tanning and lounging(: I still love them, don't worry!

7. It's been hot hot hot! But I'm still walking the dog and trying to stay in the sunshine (to get a nice tan of course) well; tan for me at least(:

Okay so it wasn't that hot when I walked the dog and the temperature went down after I began driving, but still! I think it's been hotter everywhere so I'm sure you guys understand(: right?

I'll leave with with the lucky number seven, but look out for my Foodie Penpal reveal post tomorrow and a recap of my June Powermeal a day challenge!

Love(:

I'm goin' places!

So as you may or may not know I'm going to Tulane in the fall! I'm super psyched(: It's down in New Orleans (I may refer to it as NOLA; because that stands for New Orleans, LA; get it? (:

Anyways I went to orientation this past week and it was really fun. I actually went down by myself (via airplane); and it was my first time doing so. But I almost liked it, managing my own time and everything. I may or may not have almost missed my airport shuttle #oops. Luckily my mom texted me asking if I was getting on the shuttle, haha that definitely set me into a sprint to the shuttle stop.

On the way there though the security took my oatmeal! So I had to grab a quick starbucks coffee and oatmeal. And luckily I had some of Justin's Chocolate Hazelnut butter to go(: You should try this new combo I came up with though for the starbucks. I got a latte with one pump of hazelnut and one pump of white chocolate; yumm!

Second day of Orientation (shirt ae)

About to get on the plane; I may have changed into my comfy pajama pants hehe(:

On the way there on one of my planes (I had a layover) We got TVs on the back of our seats! I've never had that before (then again I've never traveled with Delta) but it was nice. Too bad the other three flights were lacking the option of watching the Big Bang Theory (love that show!)

So in other good news I found a roommate, found my housing situation (I applied to this nicer housing so I don't have to share a bathroom with the whole floor! We have a suite that we get to share with two others) and.... I got into this program called the NOLA experience. The "track" they put me in is called Take a Bite (imagine that ;) and we get to tour the city's restaurants, learn about the history of New Orlean's food and drink and take cooking classes! (talk about a perfect match for me)

So woah; this whole college thing is quickly approaching but I'm ready to leave the house. Don't get me wrong, I love my family, but we are getting to the point where I need to leave haha.

So here's some other things I found that I liked; check out that video; cracks me up every time!

June (Better Late Than Never Right!)

I'm sure you guys have all seen Kasey's June Powermeal a day, and if you follow me on Instagram (which you should(: at chocolatemilk; haha maybe I'll tell that story one day) you would have seen my colorful eats lately. Although I probably didn't even need this motivation to eat healthy (I'm pretty self motivated; and wow that sounded conceited! But you know what I mean, usually I eat plenty of fruits and veggies, I don't really worry about getting enough into my diet because that just happens to be the food I enjoy eating) I thought that it would be fun to do the challenge, plus I love to see other's meals to get inspiration for new flavors and combinations.  Here's the photo challenge in case you are curious, or are too lazy to click on the link and read up (;

Along with this june challenge and a long with all the other bloggers out there, I made some summer goals! And in taking a cue from Heather, I made an inspiration board

My top goals include:
1. Running/Biking/Swimming a triathlon
2. When I run longer runs (5-7 miles), to run about a 9 minute pace
3. Eat a balanced  diet; and I'm not talking just fruits and veggies. Sometimes I get so caught up in eating healthy and getting enough of the "right" food that I forget to indulge every once in a while and eat the things that I enjoy that aren't as healthy
4. UNPLUG! I need to get off the computer and iPhone, because although I could read blogs and post photos on instagram all day long, I need to use my free time this summer to have fun, get outside, read books (I used to read all the time, and honestly I love reading!) and hang out with my friends
5. Be on Time; hehe I'm really bad about this one, I'm always late :/
6. Go to a Yoga Class or do yoga at home at least once a week; I really want to be able to touch my toes! (and just be more flexible in general)

(so yeah when I looked for a photo of the board I realized I didn't take one, oops)

Other than creating this colorful inspiration board I've been up to some other fun stuff;

Going to the grove park inn with mi madre(:
we actually are going back soon because there wasn't any spaces in the spa! What do you know, another aspect of "being on time" I need to work on, planning ahead!

They had an amazing sports facility, their whole weight room was filled with pink chairs (possibly for breast cancer?)
And this awesome machine; it was called an Endurance 3 Elliptical Trainer and it was so cool! I chose a program with 30 second intervals of just using your arms to pedal, going backwards, lifting your heels and other exercises. It mad the time go by really quickly!

Then their brunch buffet! Mmmm sweet potato pancakes and an omelet bar(:

Making earrings from this bead shop in Asheville and some major shoe shopping(:

Babysitting; which may or may not entail lounging around, playing soccer and finding a worm (Eek!) on the steamed broccoli

We played soccer in the driveaway; I love the bottom left picture, her expression is like "Noooo!"

Taking pictures of their cute dog and lovely flowers

Making the kids healthy dinners while they chill out and watch some tv; and quite possibly look for a full length mirror in the house to take a picture of my cute outfit(:

What have you fun things have you been doing this summer?
Did you make any unique summer goals?
and I bet you've answered these before so feel free to just comment about whatever you like(:
