Hmmm

As you can tell I'm not very good with post titles(: I'm super creative, haha. Anyways this past week I went to the beach, (sorry for the MIA) but I really tried to unplug a little there (key word: tried). It's just so hard, because whenever I get bored I go read blogs, or pin recipes, (wow, I really have a life). So instead I've been trying to get in the kitchen (don't know if that's a good thing or not; it's lead to a lot of kitchen experiments (pictures to come)) going outside and reading.

I've been trying to read a couple books at once (I tend to do that a lot). You know what else I seem to be doing a lot lately? apparently talking in pararenthesis, haha that's gotta stop. So here's what I've been reading
I just finished this today! It was good, but in my opinion a bit dragged out and I still love the first one the most (a must read!!)
My summer reading this year; it's non-fiction so at first I was a bit skeptical, but it's really not that bad!

Once again, right off the bandwagon(: I'm not entirely convinced of it's  supposed glamour, but I'm only on chapter

At the beach I did a lot of sleeping, running/biking/swimming (still training for that triathalon); you can even check my progress on dailymile(: you should friend me, (check the side bar for a link!)

My breakfast for the car ride there; chocolate egg white oats with the works

Once we got there we ate at Oceanic, a restaurant on the beach; it's a tradition, we do it every year when we go! Did I mention that we go to Wrightsville Beach in NC? That's where my mom has been going to the beach since she was a little girl (so for a very long time haha; hope you aren't reading this) Oh and this is my salad that was topped with blackened Mahi Mahi

We went to the Farmer's Market on Monday morning and got some fresh veggies and berries (yum!)

A chobani snack topped with some fresh berries, cereal and cha-cha-chia

We took several walks on the beach (like my new sweatshirt? ;)

crunched on some frozen grapes

made a trip to whole foods and hit up that hot bar! chana masala, cajun shrimp, chicken and rice with spicy black beans and an ensalada

A kitchen experiment; a mix between a powercake and Stuft Mama's cereal crumble. Topped with chobani frosting

A view in the midst of one of my runs (yes I stopped to take a pic :)

Oats en route (sound familiar?) We wanted to clean out the fridge/freezer, so I volunteered to take on some of the raspberry sorbet as my chocolate egg white oats (I know deja-vu right?) along with berries and pb candy

and lastly yesterday I made a single lady cupcake (read: kitchen experiment) yikes, but you should still go check out the recipe I based it off, it seems like such a quirky but I'm sure tasty treat (if you make it right :)

So before I make this a WIAW ;that's tomorrow(: hehe look for that post too, I'll let you go read another bloggers post. Loves

Do you read multiple books at once? I think it keeps things interesting! I'll read like an action book and a romance at the same time (you know, to mix things up)

What are you currently reading? Any suggestions?

I'm goin' places!

So as you may or may not know I'm going to Tulane in the fall! I'm super psyched(: It's down in New Orleans (I may refer to it as NOLA; because that stands for New Orleans, LA; get it? (:

Anyways I went to orientation this past week and it was really fun. I actually went down by myself (via airplane); and it was my first time doing so. But I almost liked it, managing my own time and everything. I may or may not have almost missed my airport shuttle #oops. Luckily my mom texted me asking if I was getting on the shuttle, haha that definitely set me into a sprint to the shuttle stop.

On the way there though the security took my oatmeal! So I had to grab a quick starbucks coffee and oatmeal. And luckily I had some of Justin's Chocolate Hazelnut butter to go(: You should try this new combo I came up with though for the starbucks. I got a latte with one pump of hazelnut and one pump of white chocolate; yumm!

Second day of Orientation (shirt ae)

About to get on the plane; I may have changed into my comfy pajama pants hehe(:

On the way there on one of my planes (I had a layover) We got TVs on the back of our seats! I've never had that before (then again I've never traveled with Delta) but it was nice. Too bad the other three flights were lacking the option of watching the Big Bang Theory (love that show!)

So in other good news I found a roommate, found my housing situation (I applied to this nicer housing so I don't have to share a bathroom with the whole floor! We have a suite that we get to share with two others) and.... I got into this program called the NOLA experience. The "track" they put me in is called Take a Bite (imagine that ;) and we get to tour the city's restaurants, learn about the history of New Orlean's food and drink and take cooking classes! (talk about a perfect match for me)

So woah; this whole college thing is quickly approaching but I'm ready to leave the house. Don't get me wrong, I love my family, but we are getting to the point where I need to leave haha.

So here's some other things I found that I liked; check out that video; cracks me up every time!

Welcome to my Life(:

Woah, this actually happened, haha I made a BLOG. I've been reading them for a while now, always wondering where these high schoolers had time to post during the year, but now that AP Tests are over (woot woot!) I have like no school left, a summer ahead of me and then my first year of college; yay class of 2012(: I'm going to Tulane University, which is in New Orleans, hence the blog title.

Okay, so back to what I was saying, so today I took the AP English Literature and Composition Test, any APers out there? haha, so basically it was 1 hour of multiple choice reading passages, just like on the SAT, and then 2 hours for three essays. Yeah, my hand was cramping :/ but who cares now, because that was my last AP test and I will be on cloud nine til graduation, June 2nd! Although really, I only have to go to school next week, if I place out of the oceanography exam....more on that later.

So here's some pics from my day, yeah that's right the new blogger came prepared(: I'm gonna have to get used to snapping pics here and there to make this more interesting for you guys, cause I definitely know that I love scrolling through blog posts just to look at the pictures (haha, only if i'm in a hurry, don't worry).

First, I went to IKEA and met up with the grandparents (they love that place!)
lunch at the cafe in IKEA; they have really good food! I got tomato veg soup, smoked salmon, swedish crisp bread (like all the food is from sweden since that's where IKEA like originated maybe?), salad with balsalmic, and the best part: dessert which was this torte, which is the bomb.com
haha sorry the picture shows my mostly eaten food, I forgot to snap a pic til I was like halfway through ;)

Theres me, with a potato masher, it's for my mom for mother's day don't worry

I took my lovely dog on a walk after stopping by Trader Joe's (Just fyi, i'm obsessed with that place, and grocery shopping in general(: haha but hey, aren't all foodies!)

Yeah, she's usually cute, but not the most photogenic, haha I think she is sneezing in the first pic

Grilled up a chicken hot dog, corn and veggies for an amazing meal (don't forget the dipping sauces!)

So yeah, theres my day in pics. I feel weird uploading pics of myself, like seriously who knows what creepers are reading this,.. hmm well hey creepers! and hey any reader, if there is anyone out there, I'm sure you're not creepy(:
